#14 | 10 Reasons to love Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

One of my favorite TV series is Marvel's spin-off, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (obviously because I'm a Marvel fan). Since the second season is on hiatus and it just had its most cliff-hanging, heart-stopping, cardiac-arresting finale a few weeks ago, I decided, why not make a list of why one must watch this show, especially if he isn't a Marvel fan to begin with.

1. The cast.
If you look at the Twitter and Instagram accounts of the cast, you'll definitely see how the cast is very close. Also, the cast is very much active with the fans. For example, Clark Gregg favorited one of my tweets some few months ago [squeals]. Also, they like to live tweet a lot during the show. Ming Na We , Chloe Bennett, Clark Gregg and Brett Dalton are the most active on social media so follow them and try your luck because they're all very sweet! Plus aren't they flawless in that photo?

2. The episodes will always want you thirsting for the next one.
I won't spoil anything but a good example was the latest episode where I literally screamed because I wanted to know what happens next. One agent dies (I won't spoil who it was for those who haven't seen it, I promise!) and Skye becomes... Well, just watch it and see. Every episode literally makes me wait in agony for the next one! Oh, and just to add, fans are going to have to wait until March 2015 for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to return. I'm not ready to wait that long...

3. You get to hear Avengers references every now and then.
At the start of season two, the opening scene was Agent Peggy Carter and the Howling Commandos stopping a Hydra infiltration. I seriously screamed in excitement when I saw her. Obviously this is also to promote Agent Carter (coming this January 6, 2015! Wooo) but for every Marvel fan, it's pretty cool to see the characters from different movies guest starring on the other movies (like how Cap cameoed in Thor: The Dark World remember?). Also in one episode, Skye mentioned a Captain America reference to Coulson, which is an inside joke for fans because we all know that Coulson is a Cap fanboy! :P

4. The settings are amazing.
Especially this season two, most of their settings are in exotic beautiful places (because of the story of course) like Costa Rica, if I'm not mistaken. Last season we also got to see many cool places like New Mexico and other places where Hydra could be hiding. Oh, and of course Tahiti. It's a beautiful place. (There's the inside joke again!)

5. Two words: Phil Coulson.
After The Avengers, who hasn't fallen in love with Coulson? Before The Avengers, we only knew that he was the guy in shades Fury sends in behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D. to recruit people like Tony Stark and take scientific equipment from Jane Foster. But since The Avengers, we all knew Coulson to have a soft heart with his famous line "I still believe in heroes". And now he leveled up on becoming S.H.I.E.L.D.'s new director but he still has that funny and sassy side that Clark Gregg totally gives justice to. Simply put, if you loved him in The Avengers, you'll love him more in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

6. So many ships on board. The mothership is of course Skyeward.
How do I even begin to explain this reason? All the ships on this show is too much to handle. Well the least disastrous is Phillinda (Coulson & May) because from the start they've been like bffs with May always watching over Phil. They've never gotten broken by any reason. Another ship that is less disastrous is Mockinghunter (Bobbi & Hunter) because they have a love-hate relationship but divorce is the only thing that got in the way of their relationship. But there was an episode in season two where things got a bit steamy after an argument. On the other hand, the most disastrous ships are Skyeward and Fitzsimmons. I don't know which one is more heartbreaking, especially in season two. At the end of season one, fans saw the two ships sailing and eventually sunk. All in one episode. And then how the two ships picked up in season two, like you're not sure if it's still sailing or not. It's just too much to handle. Just watch the show and you'll know what I mean.

7. For sci-fi geeks and spy fans, this is the best show to watch.
The sci-fi part is more shown on season two. Aliens and strange carvings and ancient objects and an ancient city underground with a civilization with special abilities like people not aging and not turning into stones... Yeah, pretty much I've had my dose of sci-fi in one season.

8. It shows a new level of technology that I'm pretty sure we're all dying to have.
Who wouldn't want a jet (or in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s terms, bus) that can turn invisible whenever you wanted? Or those inventions of Fitzsimmons which are totally amazing? Or a table that is touch screen? I wouldn't even mind having Skye's hacking skills.

9. The rivalry of Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. is explored more in the show (for those who were left hanging from the Cap movies ;) )
As an insane fan of Captain America, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is actually like a continuation of what left me hanging in both The First Avenger and The Winter Soldier. The fact that we've seen Peggy on the show, a bunch of Red Skull's loyal men who apparently doesn't age, and how Hydra has infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. all these years, is pretty cool for anyone who were left hanging from the Cap movies! (Hail Hydra?)

10. It's Marvel.
Not generalizing or stereotyping or bashing, but Marvel has this thing for making their movies cooler by injecting humor even though the storyline is serious. The same goes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. There's a lot of humor on the show that viewers and fans especially will enjoy. In fact, I'm also expecting Agent Carter to be hilarious too since Howard Stark will be Peggy's sidekick throughout the show. And like I said, the superhero references are pretty cool.

Hoping I convinced you, go check out season one and the first half of season two of  Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and see what I'm talking about. Good luck on getting hooked!
